About Sylvia Cary
Sylvia Cary was born in Wilton, Connecticut and grew up in both Connecticut and Manhattan. She attended Sarah Lawrence College for two years, then transferred to Boston University where she obtained her B.A. degree. She got her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Boston University School of Psychology. When she married, she moved to Los Angeles where she became a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) as well as a published writer, book editor and publisher.
She is the author of five published books, five produced educational videos and numerous articles, many on her specialty as a psychotherapist, addiction. She was awarded the Clark Vincent Award by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists for her “literary contributions to the mental health profession.” She has an editorial business which focuses on helping fellow therapists get published.
